ABOUT US

The Great Lakes Chapter of the VDD GNA is home to approximately 100 members located throughout Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Our organization(s) briefly explained

We are one of eight chapters of the Verein Deutsch-Drahthaar Group North America (or VDD-GNA). The VDD-GNA is, in turn, one of 34 regional groups belonging to the parent Verein Deutsch Drahthaar organization, headquartered in Germany.

What is a Deutsch Drahthaar?

The Deutsch Drahthaar is a breed of sporting dog which are renown for their versatility, intelligence and drive. The Deutsch Drahthaar or "DD" was originally developed in Germany in 1902. Since then, the breed has spread throughout the world while maintaining strict confirmation and performance standard. For more information on the history and testing requirements of this versatile hunting dog, visit our national website.

Our Mission

Our focus is on breeding, training and hunting the Deutsch Drahthaar. Our Chapter's mission rests on the tenants of dedication and fellowship. Although we are one of the smallest chapters of VDD-GNA, we are a dedicated bunch who strive to be good ambassadors for the breed and uphold its high standards.
